Learning Analytics Dashboards in Educational Games

Learning analytics (LA) dashboards refer to digital tools designed help learners keep track of their progress and goals. There is growing interest research around the topic LA in online learning environments, with many lessons be learned by educational game developers researchers. However, we need more this area. In chapter addressed these issues reviewing theories undergirding dashboards, presenting recommendations that can used when designing existing games, and, finally, walking through an example dashboard called Physics Playground (PP). Specifically, illustrate how PP uses stealth assessment compute students’ physics understanding using gameplay data it presents those estimates students a My Backpack.
